The use of limestone in outdoor areas is a tradition stretching back millennia. The demand for limestone for outdoor usage is ever-increasing. Not every limestone specimem can withstand the high pressure caused by moisture. Precautionary measures such as downward-sloping outer areas, layers of permeable grit/gravel drainage mats are required.

Limestone has a large variety of uses: from masonry, steps, flooring, fountains, right through to sculptures. It is increasingly in demand, particularly for use in gardening and landscaping, not least due to the growing trend towards building in a manner characteristic of the landscape. However there can be no 100% guarantee against frost damage.
