Conglomerate stone is formed through the combination of cement and building lime, sand, crushed stone dust and resin. This material is characterised by its relatively high breaking resistance and high quality. Artificial cast stone is mostly used for staircases and wall/floor coverings, windowsills, fountains and garden sculptures. Manufacture of cementitious cast stone takes place in small, manual batches.

Historic moulds are used in the preparation of the cement-based composition for the steps.
